Leeds United is reportedly eyeing a move for UD Almeria striker and Mali international Ibrahima Kone, who is currently on loan in Saudi Arabia with Al-Okhdood. According to a report from Africa Foot, Leeds has been tracking Kone, who is described as a “bull” of a 6ft3in striker.
Kone, 25, has scored three goals and provided one assist in 14 appearances for Al-Okhdood this season. His contract with Almeria runs until the summer of 2028, and he has a release clause valued at £8.4 million.
While Kone’s goal record may not be ideal, his physical presence and height could make him an attractive option for Leeds. The club lacks a robust striker who can lead the line and consistently win aerial duels.
Leeds’ interest in Kone comes after previous failed attempts by Blackburn Rovers and Sheffield United to sign him. If Leeds decides to pursue Kone, they may view him as a unique striker option who can provide a different dimension to their attack.
