Former Celtic star Kris Commons has predicted that Celtic will “explode” on Rangers in their upcoming match at Parkhead, warning that the damage could be severe. Commons believes that Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers will have been preparing for this match for weeks and will go all out to inflict a heavy defeat on Rangers.
Celtic are currently 16 points ahead of Rangers in the Premiership standings, and a win on Sunday would extend that lead to 19 points. Commons expects Celtic to start strongly and try to score two or three goals quickly, and then continue to dominate possession and look for more goals.
He warned that Celtic will not take their foot off the gas and will keep pushing for more goals if they have the opportunity. Commons stated, “If they’ve got chances for four, five, six, seven goals, they’re going to keep going. They’re not just going to be happy with two or three and down tools.”
Celtic manager Brendan Rodgers echoed Commons’ sentiments, saying that he expects Rangers to be physically fine despite their recent Europa League match. Rodgers emphasized that it’s a mental thing and that his team will look to bring their intensity and running game into Sunday’s match.
The match between Celtic and Rangers is highly anticipated, and Commons’ prediction has added to the hype. It remains to be seen how the match will unfold, but one thing is certain – Celtic will be looking to make a statement and extend their lead at the top of the Premiership standings.
