Nottingham Forest’s 4-2 win over Ipswich Town in the Premier League has been hailed as a significant step towards securing Champions League football next season. The Reds’ victory, which featured goals from Anthony Elanga, Nikola Milenkovic, and Jota Silva, has moved them seven points clear of the team in sixth place.

Former England international Danny Murphy was full of praise for Forest’s performance, particularly highlighting the display of Morgan Gibbs-White. Murphy, who was analyzing the match on Match of the Day, expressed his admiration for Gibbs-White’s versatility and discipline in a deeper role.

“Gibbs-White in the deeper role. I love him there. He’s more than disciplined enough to play there,” Murphy said. “He’s been left out of the England squad, and there’s been a lot of talk about that, but he won’t care, he’s got to just keep doing what he’s doing.”

Gibbs-White, who provided an assist for Silva’s goal, has been in fine form this season, and his performance against Ipswich was another example of his growing importance to the Forest team. Despite being overlooked for the England squad, Gibbs-White is unlikely to be fazed, and his focus will remain on helping Forest secure a top-four finish.

The Reds’ victory over Ipswich was their second consecutive win, following their impressive 1-0 victory over Manchester City last weekend. Forest’s strong form has moved them closer to securing Champions League football next season, and Gibbs-White will be integral to their success.

With several Forest players set to represent their countries during the international break, Gibbs-White will have the opportunity to rest and recharge ahead of the FA Cup fixtures when domestic football resumes.
