Leeds United Trio Receive Mixed Ratings in Wales’ Draw Against North Macedonia
The international break has come to an end, and Leeds United’s Welsh contingent has returned to Thorp Arch to prepare for their upcoming match against Swansea City. Karl Darlow, Joe Rodon, and Dan James all started for Wales in their World Cup qualifying match against North Macedonia, which ended in a 1-1 draw.
According to Y Clwb Pêl-droed, the three Leeds players received mixed ratings for their performances. Darlow, who has been impressive for Wales, received a rating of 6, with the publication noting that he “looked slightly less confident at times with his distribution” but made a crucial save in the second half.
Rodon, on the other hand, received a rating of 7, with the publication praising his defensive display, noting that he “continues to win everything that comes near the Wales box” and was “disappointed in conceding a soft goal.”
James, who scored the opener in Wales’ 3-1 win against Kazakhstan, received a rating of 6, with the publication noting that he “couldn’t quite get the touch of luck needed in the crucial moments” and was “possibly unlucky not to win a penalty.”
The draw against North Macedonia means that Wales has started their World Cup qualifying campaign with four points from two games. Leeds United will be hoping that their players can bring their international form back to Elland Road as they prepare to face Swansea City on Saturday.
