Cerny had labelled the probe into the incident as “absurd.” Rangers caretaker manager Barry Ferguson defended Cerny, stating that he would have a problem if his players didn’t celebrate goals.
Celtic’s Reaction
Celtic boss Brendan Rodgers slammed Cerny for showing a lack of respect towards the home fans. Rodgers stated that he wouldn’t want his players to behave in such a manner.

While the police probe is over, Cerny could still face sanctions from the Scottish Football Association (SFA). Former referee Steve Conroy believes the SFA will have to take action, potentially issuing a formal notice of disapproval for breaching rules or regulations.
